Rodriguez Hits 2 HR, but Alverno Jaguars Lose to Maranatha 8-7

Posted 3/21/15 – Despite the best efforts of senior Cailen Rodriguez, who hit two home runs, driving in four, Alverno lost at Maranatha in the final inning.  Alverno got off to a good start, scoring in their first at bat, but Maranatha answered with two in the bottom of the first.  Each team scored two in the third, and then Alverno went up 7 to 4 in the fifth inning.  But Maranatha came back with one in the fifth, one in the sixth, and two more in the seventh and final inning.  Junior Katie Taix took the loss, with Junior Michelle Lieng picking up the win for Maranatha.  Taix was not helped by five errors committed in the field.

The Jaguars face Garfield on Garvey Park field #1 at 9am this morning with a matchup against Sotomayer at the same location beginning at 10:45.
