Alverno Varsity Softball Knocks off Holy Family

Posted 5/3/15 – Senior Olivia Rivas knocked in two runs, junior Emily Yakikian went 3 for 3 including two doubles and an RBI, and senior Cailen Rodriguez knocked in another as the Jaguars defeated Glendale’s Holy Family Gaels behind the complete game shut out pitching of junior Katie Taix on Thursday.  The win followed Tuesday’s 11-0 win over San Gabriel Mission, and brings the teams league record to 8-0, overall for the season they are 13-3.  Next up: Sacred Heart of Jesus in Los Angeles, at Sacred Heart, on Tuesday, May 5th at 3:30pm.  The Jaguars had two games on Saturday, against Sultana in the morning and Hoover in the afternoon, results for those games have not yet been posted.
