Everybody is entitled to express thier 'opinions' about the Sierra Madre Police Department; and from what I've read here, there seems to be both positive and negative views from the community. I'd like to voice my own opinions now. In regard to the 'bashing' of 'our' officers, I really don't think it's fair. I do understand that some of 'us' may not have had such a pleasurable encounter with the police at one point in time, but think about it for a second here. Do 'we' (or anybody else with a stable mind) think that Sierra Madre's officers, or ANY other cop, ponders on how to get sued everytime they go to work? This MIGHT be a tough one, for some..... Secondly, just because Sierra Madre is a peaceful 'town', are we to think that crime is not present? I remember a little incident at 'TailGators' and at the 'Bank of America' not too long ago, in little old Sierra Madre...where crime is supposedly 'non-existent' =) Additionally, have 'we' thought about the possible crimes that our officers PREVENTED? Not to mention that they are ALWAYS EXPEDITIOUSLY there, when we call them. To keep this short, I have NEVER had a bad encounter with the Sierra Madre's cops. To me, they were, and still are VERY professional! They all DESERVE a raise! The next time ANY of us wants to insult a Sierra Madre cop, just remember that they will be the 'stupid' ones that will run into harm's way to help each and every one of us. Think About It.
