Who We Are… Dr. Deborah Smith and Dr. Joseph Pavlik, have a combined 50 years experience in small animal veterinary medicine. They joined efforts in 1997 to acquire Hastings Animal Hospital and fulfill the dream of a full service hospital that still has the personal touch of a “neighborhood” veterinary practice. Hastings Animal Hospital offers the most current veterinary knowledge and technology, unsurpassed tender and compassionate care for your pets, and the highest standards of professional customer service and respect for our clients. Our continuing goal is to be the veterinary hospital that best meets the needs of our patients and their owners, serving Sierra Madre, Hastings Ranch, Arcadia and East Pasadena.
Meet the Doctors… Dr. Pavlik, a University of Nebraska graduate with over 30 years experience in the San Gabriel Valley, works full-time at our sister hospital, Community Animal Hospital, in Rosemead and manages the Emergency Clinic of San Gabriel Valley. He lives with his family in Arcadia.
Dr. Smith, a UC Davis grad, manages and works full-time at Hastings Animal Hospital. She has advanced post-graduate training in animal medicine and surgery and a special interest in feline medicine. She is currently working toward an advanced specialty degree in Canine and Feline Medicine (A.B.V.P.) and Certification in Acupuncture (I.V.A.S.). She lives in Sierra Madre and is an active community volunteer and a founding member of the Sierra Madre Rotary Club.
Our Staff…Our personable and experienced staff is dedicated to your pets. They are happy to help you with questions, general pet care advice, and help you schedule your veterinary visits around your busy schedule, with a minimum of inconvenience to you.
