{"id":13937,"date":"2013-06-15T08:43:47","date_gmt":"2013-06-15T15:43:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sierramadrenews.net\/?p=13937"},"modified":"2013-06-15T08:44:46","modified_gmt":"2013-06-15T15:44:46","slug":"13937","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.sierramadrenews.net\/?p=13937","title":{"rendered":"Bill to Help Small Businesses Passes First Test in State Senate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Press Release posted 6\/14\/13 &#8211; Sacramento &#8211;<\/em> Assemblymember Chris Holden\u2019s (D-Pasadena) legislation to make the Small Business Loan Guarantee program more accessible and user friendly has been approved in the Senate Government Organization Committee.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt a time when California is\u00a0striving to rebound\u00a0from a long recession, this program can play a pivotal role in making much needed capital more accessible to thousands of small businesses so they can expand, create new jobs,\u00a0and save the jobs of existing employees,\u201d stated Assemblymember Holden.<\/p>\n<p>AB 201 requires the California Small Business Loan Guarantee Program to maintain an Internet website that would include information on the program\u2019s loan guarantees, direct lending, surety bond guarantees, and disaster loans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor the past 40 years, SBLGP has been instrumental in working with banks to guarantee loans to undercapitalized small businesses.
