Around 3 a.m., <\/span><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">drunk as a skunk, he headed for home. Just as he got in the door, the <\/span><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">cuckoo clock in the hall started up and cuckooed 3 times. Quickly realizing <\/span><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">his wife would probably wake up, he cuckooed another 9 times.\u00a0 He was really proud of myself for coming up with such a quick-witted solution <\/span><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">(even when smashed) in order to escape a possible conflict with his wife.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">The next morning she asked him what time he got in, and he told her 12:00.\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">She didn&#8217;t seem disturbed at all. Whew! he thought, I got away with that one!\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">Then she said, &#8220;We need a new cuckoo clock.&#8221;\u00a0 When he asked her why, <\/span><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">she said, &#8220;Well, last night our clock cuckooed three times then said, &#8220;Oh <\/span><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">hell!&#8221; cuckooed 4 more times, cleared its throat, cuckooed another 3 times, <\/span><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">giggled, cuckooed twice more, and then tripped over the cat and started snoring. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One night a man was out for a night with some friends.
