{"id":19438,"date":"2014-11-29T07:25:04","date_gmt":"2014-11-29T15:25:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sierramadrenews.net\/?p=19438"},"modified":"2014-11-29T07:25:52","modified_gmt":"2014-11-29T15:25:52","slug":"sm-art-walk-and-winter-village-festival-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.sierramadrenews.net\/?p=19438","title":{"rendered":"SMArt Walk and Winter Village Festival Today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Posted 11\/29\/14 &#8211; The 2014 Sierra Madre SMArt Walk takes place today, from Noon \u00a0\u2013 4 pm and the Sierra Madre Winter Village Festival will take place from 3 to 8pm.<\/p>\n<p>During the Art Walk, Sierra Madre will bustle with creativity as artists and musicians join with almost all our local businesses to celebrate art and community. \u00a0This SMArt Walk is concurrent with our winter holiday\u00a0<em>Winter Village Festival<\/em><em>. \u00a0<\/em>There will be the snow sledding at the Bank of the West, more Children\u2019s activities in the Public Parking lot behind Bank of the West, and later the Horse and Carriage rides and of course Santa will come via our Volunteer Fire Department Fire engine. \u00a0This Sierra Madre tradition has gone by several names; Dickens\u2019 Village and more recently Whoville. \u00a0The day is dedicated to Families and is held on\u00a0<em>Support Local Merchant<\/em>\u00a0day. \u00a0 Supporting our local merchants is one of the most important things you can do. \u00a0This helps Sierra Madre remain the charming Village that we love.<\/p>\n<p>Original works of art, including paintings, drawings, photographs, prints, and sculptures, will be available to view and purchase, along with many fine crafts including furniture, pottery, handmade cards, jewelry, woodcarvings, floral designs,\u00a0and textiles.
