This exciting event will showcase elementary through middle school student-generated work &#8211; connecting students with their community on Friday, May 8 at Blair High School. PUSD\u2019s\u00a0<em>Innovation Exposition<\/em>\u00a0is a novel approach to inspire students to think critically and explore their\u00a0interests and talents in science.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<em>Innovation Exposition<\/em>\u00a0enables individual and student teams to explore their interests and talents by offering six elective categories aligned with PUSD\u2019s Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) curriculum from which students can choose:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Invention:\u00a0 Design process and construction<\/li>\n<li>Science Fiction:\u00a0 Literature of ideas<\/li>\n<li>Environmental Innovation:\u00a0 Environmentally innovative ideas<\/li>\n<li>Engineering (Reverse):\u00a0 Discovery and analysis<\/li>\n<li>Scientific Inquiry:\u00a0 experimentation category<\/li>\n<li>3D Printer Challenge (New for 2015)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Projects at the\u00a0<em>Innovation Exposition<\/em>\u00a0will be judged by experts\u00a0including Caltech and JPL scientists and engineers.<\/p>\n<p>PUSD is turning to STEM education to engage students in rigorous and relevant learning and to prepare them to make informed decisions about their careers and college aspirations. STEM and Project-based learning (PBL) teaches students to think in unconventional ways about solving problems that we face in our work and lives.
