While incoming Tournament of Roses President Brad Ratliff has not officially announced his 2017 Parade Theme, we do know that the theme is a take on his father\u2019s theme of the 1999 parade, \u201cEchoes of the Century\u201d, and is a reflection of our successes. \u00a0The 2017 theme will officially be unveiled on January 21, 2016 at the Tournament\u2019s annual\u00a0installation meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Brad Ratliff&#8217;s\u00a0Float Design Hint\u00a0for\u00a0the upcoming 2017 Tournament President is:<\/p>\n<p>The 2017 Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Game tells the story of how our character has\u00a0developed through the selfless contributions of others and celebrates their inspirational gifts. \u00a0Our successes are unique to each of us. Success is not gauged by the final score, not by how\u00a0much wealth we accumulate and should not be weighed against the accomplishments of others.<\/p>\n<p>Success is measured by our own personal satisfaction in knowing that we achieved our utmost\u00a0by doing our best.<\/p>\n<p>Your daughter\u2019s first piano recital.<\/p>\n<p>A Special Olympian crossing the finish line.<\/p>\n<p>A wounded warrior\u2019s first steps.<\/p>\n<p>All are examples of success.<\/p>\n<p>But success cannot be achieved alone. We need the support and influences of others. Family,\u00a0teachers, friends, organizations and coaches contribute to our success. Music, art and\u00a0education further inspire our success. Theses echoes help make us who we are.\u00a0Americas New Year Celebration for 2017 celebrates those people and institutions that have\u00a0been instrumental in helping each of us and in helping others achieve success.
