{"id":4532,"date":"2011-08-21T06:37:20","date_gmt":"2011-08-21T13:37:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sierramadrenews.net\/?p=4532"},"modified":"2011-08-21T06:37:20","modified_gmt":"2011-08-21T13:37:20","slug":"art-alley-featuring-sierra-madre-artists-to-be-part-of-friday-night-live-finale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.sierramadrenews.net\/?p=4532","title":{"rendered":"Art Alley Featuring Sierra Madre Artists to be Part of Friday Night Live Finale"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.smfridaynightlive.info\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4310 alignright\" title=\"FNLsm\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sierramadrenews.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/FNLsm-300x215.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"180\" height=\"129\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.sierramadrenews.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/FNLsm-300x215.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.sierramadrenews.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/FNLsm-150x107.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.sierramadrenews.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/FNLsm.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 180px) 100vw, 180px\" \/><\/a>The Sierra Madre Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the Sierra Madre Friends of the Arts to showcase local artists at this week\u2019s final night of Friday Night Live.\u00a0 From 6:30 to 9 pm, Kersting Court will be closed down and Sierra Madre artists will showcase their work.\u00a0 Some of the artists expected to be on\u00a0 hand are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Elizabeth Converse \u2013 jewelry, photography, mixed media<\/li>\n<li>Christine Prentiss \u2013 note cards, small art, scarves<\/li>\n<li>Grace Cook &#8211; oil paintings<\/li>\n<li>Susan Cook \u2013 stamping, scrapbooks<\/li>\n<li>Jean Tannhauser &#8211; oil painting, prints and cards<\/li>\n<li>Star Higgins \u2013 hand painted textiles<\/li>\n<li>Lee Ann Graves \u2013 handmade wrist rests.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition to the \u201cArt Alley, \u201d their will be a performance of the band Travel by Sea, sponsored by Century 21 Village Realty.\u00a0 Creative Arts Group, preparing for its Sept. 9<sup>th<\/sup> Faculty Show, will feature a \u201cChildren\u2019s Wall\u201d as they stay open late to participate in the Friday Night Live finale.<\/p>\n<p>Shoppers who spend more than $35 in a retail store or $50 in a restaurant during Friday Night Live can bring their receipt to the Chamber booth in Kersting Court to be entered in a drawing, which will be held as part of this week\u2019s closing night festivities.\u00a0 Two lucky winners will receive shopping and dining sprees valued at nearly $600, donated by local businesses.\u00a0 For a complete list of the participating businesses and their donation to the Grand Prize packages, visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.SMFridayNightLive.info\"><strong>www.SMFridayNightLive.info<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Also, just to add a little extra fun for the evening, the first 125 people to visit the Chamber booth will receive a free pair of Groucho-style fun glasses to wear while shopping.<\/p>\n<p>This is the third year that the Chamber has staged Friday Night Live during the summer, featuring live music, shopper\u2019s incentives and, new this year, theme nights, such as Groucho glasses night.
