Final Week of Friday Night Live Brings Art, Music, Big Prizes!<\/p>\n

August 21, 2011 – <\/em>More than a dozen and a half Sierra Madre businesses have contributed to create two Grand Prize\u00a0 shopping\/dining sprees as part of the Friday Night Live event put on by the Chamber of Commerce each summer, this year also sponsored by Athens Services.<\/p>\n

Shoppers who spend more than $35 in a retail store or $50 in a restaurant during Friday Night Live (6:30 to 9pm Fridays through August 26th) can bring their receipt to the Chamber booth in Kersting Court to be entered in the drawing, which will be held as part of this week\u2019s closing night festivities.<\/p>\n

The grand prizes include $25 gift certificates from Angel\u2019s Everywear, Arnold\u2019s Frontier Hardware, Baldwin Jewelers, Barney\u2019s Only Place in Town,\u00a0 Bean Town Coffee House, Belle\u2019s Nest, Bottle Shop, Butterfly Effect Day Spa, Caf\u00e9 322, Casa del Rey, Corfu, Laurel\u2019s Treasures,\u00a0 Savor the Flavor, Sierra Bistro, Sierra Juice and Zugo\u2019s Caf\u00e9.\u00a0 In addition, the Four Seasons Tea Room has donated Afternoon Tea for one ($22 value), Hands 2 Health Chiropractic has donated a free massage ($50 value), and the Sierra Madre Playhouse has donated theater tickets for two ($40 value) for each of the prizes. Total value of each prize is nearly $600!<\/p>\n

\u201cConsidering that there are two prizes, and considering the relatively low number of entries that will end up being in the drawing, everybody in the San Gabriel Valley should be heading up here to get in this contest,\u201d said Bill Coburn, executive director of the Sierra Madre Chamber.\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cThe odds of winning are going to be pretty good compared to other contests.\u201d<\/p>\n

The band Travel by Sea will be performing live in Kersting Court Friday evening, sponsored by Century 21 Village Realty.\u00a0 In addition, the first 125 people that visit the Chamber booth will receive a free pair of Groucho style fun glasses to wear while shopping downtown this Friday night.<\/p>\n

This Friday\u2019s event will also feature an \u201cArt Alley<\/a><\/strong>\u201d in the street, with local Sierra Madre artists displaying and selling their artwork all evening.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
