Sierra Madre First Responders to Hold 9/11 Memorial

Posted 9/3/12 – SMPD and SMFD will again host a memorial service to honor the victims of the New York World Trade Centers attack on 9/11/2001 at the Fire Station on Tuesday, Sept. 11th.  The public is invited to attend.  The service will begin at approximately 6:45am, and at 6:59am, the same time the first of the two towers collapsed following the attack in New York in 2001, the Verdugo Rescue 911 Center will make an announcement in remembrance of the fallen, which included 344 firefighters, 343 of whom were members of the International Association of Firefighters, and one volunteer.
