At approximately 9:30am, an unknown suspect removed a lap top computer from the rear seat of a vehicle parked in the 600 block of East Sierra Madre Boulevard.   The victim stated she was only parked at that location for a short period of time to visit the recreation center. The victim did not recall if she had locked the vehicle.

Wednesday. January 16, 2013

A residential burglary occurred in the 600 block of Valle Vista Drive between 10am and 7pm while the residents were at work.  Unknown suspect(s) entered through any one of a number of unsecured doors and ransacked the bedrooms and closets.  While inside, the suspect(s) barricaded the dog door with furniture to prevent the dog from entering the residence.  A laptop computer, small electric devices and jewelry were taken.

At approximately 9:30pm, Arcadia units responded to a burglary in progress call in the 1400 block of San Carlos.  Two suspects were detained and Sierra Madre units assisted with the investigation.  Similarities between this crime and a few of the residential burglaries in Sierra Madre were evident.  Sierra Madre detectives are working closely with Arcadia PD to determine if these suspects can be linked to additional crimes.

A residential burglary occurred in the 200 block of North Sunnyside Avenue between 2pm and 1am the following morning.  Unknown suspect(s) pried open a rear window using a type of pry tool. Once inside, the suspect(s) ransacked several cabinets and closets taking an Apple computer and an I-Pod.

At 8:45pm officers responded to the Chantry Gate in response to a call of a lock-in. A check of the license plate revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen in Monrovia the previous day. Two of the occupants were subsequently booked for Grand Theft Auto.
