Posted 7/7/13 – As part of the 4th of July festivities, there was a Community Picnic in the Park. The pool was open free of charge, the beer garden was open, as was the dunk tank, there were multiple food trucks. Civic Club sold confetti eggs, but they also sponsored and oversaw old time games like a water balloon toss, egg toss, etc., the Historical Preservation Society sold their old time lemonade and promoted their upcoming chicken and ravioli dinner at Lizzie’s Trail Inn, SMRFA sold roses as a fund raiser, CERT educated people on how to be ready for an emergency, and live entertainment was provided by the Gem City Jazz Cats. I’m working on video of the Jazz Cats and the old time games, will post when it’s ready. As always, click on a photo to enlarge.
