Press Release posted 10/12/14 – The Sierra Madre Environmental Action Council (SMEAC) announces a General Meeting to be held Thursday, Oct. 16, 6:00-9:00 p.m., at the Nature Friends Lodge & Retreat Center in Sierra Madre Canyon, 423 Yucca Trail. We will enjoy a potluck dinner – beverages provided – as prelude to our guest speaker for the evening, Dr. William Patzert, the well known NASA/JPL expert on oceanography and climatology. His 31 years of research has focused on improving our understanding of important environmental problems ranging from El Nino and La Nina to longer term climate change.  The subject of Dr. Patzert’s presentation will be “Drought, Are We In Or Out?”  Dr. Patzert has addressed the local Kiwanis chapter twice in recent years. For those who missed these events or want to be updated, this is your opportunity. A freewill donation would be appreciated. Please RSVP to Alison Snow, 355-1544, to help us plan parking.
