YOU Could Design SMRFA’s 2017 Rose Float

Press Release posted 1/9/16 – It is time for you to design next years float.

This year’s design contest will be held until Friday, February 5th 2016. While incoming Tournament of Roses President Brad Ratliff has not officially announced his 2017 Parade Theme, we do know that the theme is a take on his father’s theme of the 1999 parade, “Echoes of the Century”, and is a reflection of our successes.  The 2017 theme will officially be unveiled on January 21, 2016 at the Tournament’s annual installation meeting.

Brad Ratliff’s Float Design Hint for the upcoming 2017 Tournament President is:

The 2017 Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Game tells the story of how our character has developed through the selfless contributions of others and celebrates their inspirational gifts.  Our successes are unique to each of us. Success is not gauged by the final score, not by how much wealth we accumulate and should not be weighed against the accomplishments of others.

Success is measured by our own personal satisfaction in knowing that we achieved our utmost by doing our best.

Your daughter’s first piano recital.

A Special Olympian crossing the finish line.

A wounded warrior’s first steps.

All are examples of success.

But success cannot be achieved alone. We need the support and influences of others. Family, teachers, friends, organizations and coaches contribute to our success. Music, art and education further inspire our success. Theses echoes help make us who we are. Americas New Year Celebration for 2017 celebrates those people and institutions that have been instrumental in helping each of us and in helping others achieve success. It’s about the people and cultures that lend us a hand in reaching our destination.

So get your pencil to paper and submit a design.

See http://www.smrosefloat.org/get-involved/design-a-float for more information and for the submission forms.

Again the deadline is February 5th, but don’t wait to the last minute.   We want to see you designs soon.
