Sierra Madre Resident to be Keynote Speaker at Glendale Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast

Sierra Madre resident Lisa Bowman will be Keynote Speaker at Glendale Mayor's Breakfast

Lisa Bowman of Sierra Madre will be the keynote speaker at the upcoming 48th Annual Glendale Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast. Her inspirational speech is entitled “Rejoice.” Bowman, a former stage and television actress and sports radio personality living now with Multiple Sclerosis is making a return appearance at the breakfast, having first spoken at the event in the 1980s.

As a singer and dancer in musical theatre, Bowman played “Maggie” in the 1st National Company of “A Chorus Line,” starred opposite Broadway star Gordon MacRae in “Shenandoah” and toured nationally with legendary songwriter Sammy Cahn. Television credits include “Happy Days,” “Alien Nation,” and “The Rockford Files.”

Bowman’s sports radio career featured stints on KABC, KMPC and KLAC. She was the first female president of the Southern California Sports Broadcasters’ Association.

Bowman currently edits an interfaith Web site, TheReligionNetwork.com and recently co-created the iPhone quote App, “UpElevator” with another Sierra Madre resident, Rich Johnson.

Glendale Mayor Ara Najarian will host the Prayer Breakfast. Performing the Master of Ceremonies duties will be Tony Tartaglia. Musical entertainment is also part of the program.
