Posted 9/16/11 – Emmanuel Church in Arcadia located at 23 W. Foothill Blvd. in Arcadia,  just west of Santa Anita, will host a FREE Bluesfest from 12 to 7pm on Saturday, Sept. 17th, with proceeds to benefit the world famous Sierra Madre Search and Rescue Team.   Scheduled to perform are Reverend Tom and the Good News Blues Band, George Watts and the Howlin’ Blues Boogie Band, Lightnin’ Willie and the Poor Boys, Big Daddy T, and the HEADLINING BAND… Guitar Jack and the No Slack Band!  All this will be followed by a Jam Session—all who sign up will play …

Food will be available from two gourmet food trucks that were extremely popular at the Sierra Madre Chamber of Commerce Food Truck Festival on August 13th, SlapYoMama Truck, featuring Cajun and Creole food, and the A Rockin’ Ice shave ice truck.

Kids will have a blast, too, with Balloon Twisting, Face Painting, Bouncy House, Slip n Slide, and a Petting Zoo too, so bring the family.

In addition to antique cars & motorcycles on display, Sierra Madre Search and Rescue will be on hand to educate the public about their Team, which is celebrating its sixtieth year serving stranded hikers worldwide.

So, bring your lawnchairs/blankets (yes, there will be tables too) and enjoy the dance floor – plan on an awesome day enjoying good music with good people!
