Garden Club to Host SM Rose Princesses

Posted 12/3/11 – With royalty taking center stage this year, Sierra Madre Garden Club gets on board by welcoming Sierra Madre’s Royal Court, the Rose Princesses, who will grace our 2012 parade entry.  This will take place at the Club’s dinner meeting, Monday, December 12, at 6:30pm,  in Gooden School’s multi-purpose room located a the southeastern corner of Laurel and Baldwin Avenues.

The public is welcome.  A delicious catered holiday dinner will be served at $9.00 each with reservations, made by calling 355-0606.

Present will be Princesses Kacey Benson, Julianna Gough, Tracey Janzen and Alisa Udell, each giving information about her activities and goals.  They will be chaperoned and introduced b y the Rose Float Association “Queen Mother’ Donna Sutcliffe.  A rendering of the the 2012 float entry will be displayed along with information about its construction and flowering.  Entitled “Colorful Imagination,” it wil be our 80th entry in the Tournament of Roses.  For the last six years, all have been prize winners.

The Garden Club will present a check to the Princesses in support of the Rose Float Association.  The Club’s other philanthropies are garden related local projects and Penny Pines, which supports reforestation after devastating fires.
