Artist Reception Held at City Hall

Posted 5/12/12 – The City of Sierra Madre Community Services Commission and Arts Advisory Committee is pleased to present an art exhibition by Hilda Pittman.  On Friday, May 11th, an opening reception was held with the artist in attendance.

Ms. Pittman began painting about twenty years ago, after her children were grown.  While she briefly experimented working with acrylics, she has settled on watercolor as her preferred choice of media.  She has studied at PCC with an artist who specialized in landscapes, as well as more recently with a floral specialist.  The work she currently has on display at City Hall is all florals, with one exception, which emphasizes but is not entirely florals.

While Ms. Pittman’s work has been on display with groups of other artists in shows at such locations as the Arboretum and Descanso Gardens, this is her first show dedicated solely to her work.

The art work is now on display through Friday, June 8 in Sierra Madre City Hall, 232 W. Sierra Madre Blvd.
