Making Scents in a Perfume Garden

Shelley Harter will be guest speaker at Sierra Madre Garden Club’s dinner meeting, Monday, May 9th at 6pm, held in Hart Park House/Senior Center in Memorial Park, 222 W. Sierra Madre Blvd.  Harter’s presentation will highlight perfume gardens and growing plants for their scent.  Come learn about extracting fragrance from plants, the origin of making perfume, where plants are grown for this purpose, and about scented plants.

Harter has a Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture from Cal Poly, Pomona.  Her horticultural careers have been working the floral and produce industries.  She is a trustee of the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden.

The catered dinner is $9.00 with reservations needed.  To make reservations, please call (626) 355-0606.  Everyone is welcome.  If you would like to skip dinner and come just for the program, there is no charge, and no reservations needed.  It is suggested you arrive by 6:45pm.
