Posted 9/8/14 – Ed Clare, owner of Ed Clare Electrical, passed away suddenly in his home on Wednesday, Sept. 3rd.  According to the Mountain Views News, initial indications are that he suffered a heart attack.  Clare was 68 years old.

Clare was a long time member of the Sierra Madre Kiwanis Club, and a member of the Harry L. Embree Sierra Madre VFW Post 3208.  Clare was actively involved with the building of John Grijalva’s dream, the Memorial Wall in Memorial Park.   I remember one night shortly after the wall was put up, driving by the park and Ed had just come down to lower the flag, because he realized that the lighting had not been installed, and he didn’t want the flag flying at night without a light to shine on it.  That’s the kind of guy Ed was.  He will be missed.

Word is that services will be held in early October, probably the third.  We’ll update this article when we know more.

  1. Ed was definitely one of the good guys! I will miss sharing political quips with him. Rest in peace, my friend.
