City Selling Old Street Signs

Last month, Public Works staff began replacement of existing street name signs.  The new signs meet current federal requirement for font size and reflectivity.

Crews have been working diligently to get the signs replaced as quickly as possible, and have completed most locations south of Grand View Ave.  The replacement process is expected to take a couple more weeks, and staff has discovered errors in some of the signs while un-boxing them from the supplier.  Correction and installation of those signs will be the final phase of the project.

The old signs are available for purchase at a cost of $78 each.  Over half of the old signs have been purchased at this time.  Arrangements for purchase of the remaining available signs may be made by contacting City Hall (626-355-7135) and speaking to Liz Cowan (ext. 802) or James Carlson (ext. 803).

Full payment must be received to guarantee sale of each sign.

Persons who have already paid for and reserved signs will be contacted by Public Works Staff when their signs are available.
