Sierra Madre Police Blotter, June 26th to July 2nd

Sierra Madre Police Dept. logoDuring the week of Sunday, June 26th, to Saturday July 2nd, the Sierra Madre Police Department responded to approximately 299 calls for service. See crimereports.com for updated information. 

Sunday, June 26th:

7:42 AM- Terrorist Threats, Grove St.  The suspect used a knife to threaten to kill his live-in girlfriend, and sent her text messages implying that he was going to kill her.  The victim was terrified and notified the Sierra Madre Police Department. The PD directed the victim to leave the location and obtained an emergency protective order on her behalf. Officers staked out the location and arrested the suspect as he left home the next morning. The suspect was charged with making terrorists threats and booked at Pasadena Jail. His bail was set at $100,000.  The District Attorney’s Office filed two felony counts of terrorist threats against the suspect.

Monday, June 27th:

9:23 PM- DUI Alcohol/Drugs, Santa Anita Canyon Rd and Arno Dr.  An officer stopped a 27-year old Azusa motorist for a Vehicle Code violation and determined that the driver was under the influence of alcohol.  The driver was arrested and transported to Pasadena Police Department for booking. 

Tuesday, June 28th:

10:09 AM- Public Intoxication, Warrants.  100 W. Sierra Madre Blvd.  Officers arrested an intoxicated homeless man on a bicycle and booked him at Pasadena Jail.  The suspect also had five outstanding warrants for his arrest. 

Thursday, June 30th:

3:29 AM- Attempted Residential Burglary, 500 blk. Sturtevant Dr.  A victim called police after a man with a dog tried to enter her home.  Officers responded to the location and encountered the suspect in the driveway with the dog.  Officers ordered the man to surrender, but he did not comply, and tried to run away.  An officer deployed a Taser on the suspect, who was then taken into custody.  After a medical clearance, officers took the suspect to the Pasadena Police Department Jail for booking.

 Friday, July 1st:

1:59 AM- Disorderly Conduct/Drunk in Public, Sierra Madre Blvd and Baldwin.  An officer contacted an intoxicated man sleeping on a bus bench and arrested him.  The officer took the suspect to the Pasadena police Department Jail for booking. 

10:52 PM- Felony DUI/Fourth Conviction within 10 Years, Sierra Madre Blvd. and Michillinda Ave. An officer stopped a 62-year old Sierra Madre motorist for a Vehicle Code violation and determined that the driver was under the influence of alcohol.  Based on the suspect’s previous DUI convictions within the past 10 years, the officer arrested him for felony DUI and took him to the Pasadena Police Department for booking. 

Saturday, July 2nd:

9:03 PM- Disturbing the Peace/Loud/Unreasonable Noise, 200 blk. Old Ranch Rd.  Officers responded to a complaint of a man yelling and screaming from inside his home.  The PD has previously responded to the location at least sixteen times in the past 6 months for similar behavior.  A neighbor signed a private person’s arrest and officers took the man to jail for disturbing the peace.
