Posted 12/23/11 – The Sierra Madre Chamber of Commerce announced that it has named Richard Mays to be the 2011 Citizen of the Year. In 2011, Mays served as the City’s Deputy Treasurer, sat on the UUT Oversight Committee, was a member of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), the SMPD Volunteer Force, and acted as Treasurer for the Sierra Madre Historical Preservation Society. He is also a retired 32-year volunteer veteran on the Sierra Madre Fire Department. Mays will be honored at the Citizen of the Year dinner in January, details to follow.
