Sierra Madre Police Dept. logoPosted 12/30/11 – During the week of Sunday, December 18th, 2011 to Saturday, December 24th, 2011 the Sierra Madre Police Department responded to approximately 245 calls for service.

Sunday, December 18th

12:09 PM – Residential Burglary – 800 block of Skyland Drive. Officers responded to a burglary investigation and found the burglary actually occurred between the period of 12-12-11 and 12-18-11. Unknown suspect(s) entered the attached garage that was left open and stole four snowboards, a snowboarding jacket and a pair of pants from the garage. Once inside the garage, the suspect(s) then entered an unlocked television room, which is next to the garage, and stole an Xbox video game console. The total loss was estimated at approximately $3,500.00.

7:51 PM – Arrest, Public Intoxication, 00 block of Kersting Court. Officers responded to a call of an intoxicated man. He was arrested for public intoxication and transported to the Pasadena Police Department jail for booking.  

Monday, December 19th

9:57 AM – Theft of Identity, 300 block of Churchill Road. The resident reported being the victim of theft of identity after discovering that someone fraudulently used his credit card information and made an unauthorized purchase on his account.

1:35 PM – Theft of Identity, 600 block of Auburn Ave. The resident reported being the victim of theft of identity after discovering that someone fraudulently used her credit information to obtained telephone service without the victim’s permission.

10:54 PM – Arrest, Suspended License, Baldwin Ave and Sierra Madre Blvd. An officer stopped a motorist for a Vehicle Code violation.  Further investigation revealed the motorist was driving on a suspended/revoked driver’s license.  The motorist was cited for the misdemeanor violation and released on a written promise to appear in court.

Tuesday, December 20th

7:40 AM – Arrest, Unlicensed Driver, 500 block Mount Wilson Trail. An officer stopped a motorist for a Vehicle Code violation. Further investigation revealed the motorist was driving without a valid driver’s license. The motorist was cited for the misdemeanor violation and released on a written promise to appear in court.

Wednesday, December 21st

12:21 PM – Arrest, Suspended License, Foothill Blvd and Baldwin Ave, in Arcadia. An officer stopped a motorist for a Vehicle Code violation.  Further investigation revealed the motorist was driving on a suspended/revoked driver’s license.  The motorist was cited for the misdemeanor violation and released on a written promise to appear in court.

5:25 PM – Elder Abuse of Financial Fraud, 600 block of Canyon Crest. Adult Protective Services alerted SMPD of a possible financial abuse to an elderly man. Officers discovered the elderly man was a victim of a telephone scam, after he sent $500.00 to an out-of-state bogus publishing company.

Friday, December 23rd

10:14 AM – Arrest, Unlicensed Driver, Santa Anita Ave and Grandview Ave. An officer stopped a motorist for a Vehicle Code violation. Further investigation revealed the motorist was driving without a valid driver’s license. The motorist was cited for the misdemeanor violation and released on a written promise to appear in court.

1:35 PM – Arrest, Unlicensed Driver and Possession of Marijuana. Sierra Madre Blvd and Michillinda Ave. An officer stopped a motorist for a Vehicle Code violation. Further investigation revealed the motorist was driving without a valid driver’s license and was in possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. The motorist was cited for the violations and released on a written promise to appear in court.

10:01 PM – Arrest, Unlicensed Driver, Baldwin Ave and Hampton Rd, in Arcadia. An officer stopped a motorist for a Vehicle Code violation. Further investigation revealed the motorist was driving without a valid driver’s license. The motorist was cited for the misdemeanor violation and released on a written promise to appear in court.

10:31 PM – Arrest, Suspended License, Hastings Ranch Drive and Mayfair Drive, in Pasadena. An officer stopped a motorist for a Vehicle Code violation.  Further investigation revealed the motorist was driving on a suspended/revoked driver’s license.  The motorist was cited for the misdemeanor violation and released on a written promise to appear in court.

Saturday, December 24th

12:42 AM – Arrest, Public Intoxication, 00 block of Kersting Court. Officers handled an incident of a disruptive customer that refused to leave Lucky Baldwin’s. Officers arrested the man for public intoxication and took him to the Pasadena Police Department jail for booking. 

 9:09 PM – Arrest, Unlicensed Driver and Possession of Marijuana, Orange Grove Ave and Rancho Rd. An officer stopped a motorist for a Vehicle Code violation. Further investigation revealed the motorist was driving without a valid driver’s license and his passenger was in possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. Both men were cited for the violations and released on a written promise to appear in court.
