Posted 12/7/11 – At the request of the Sierra Madre PTA and by unanimous support and endorsement of the School Board of the Pasadena Unified School District, the auditorium at Sierra Madre School has officially been named the Gayle L. Bluemel Auditorium. Gayle’s extensive tenure of 38 years as an educator with PUSD, 21 of which were in direct service to Sierra Madre School, makes this naming a fitting tribute to her extraordinary leadership in education and passionate advocacy for the arts in education.
Wednesday, Dec. 14th at 5:00 at the Auditorium, a reception will be held in Ms. Bluemel’s honor. Following that will be a presentation by Mayor John Buchanan and the Renaming Ceremony.
