Press Release posted 7/6/12 - The Spero Foundation and the Sierra Madre Fourth of July Committee welcomed over 200 participants to this year’s Fire Cracker Fun Run on July 4th.    With only one small miss-step at the start, technical difficulties coordinating the start clock and the start buzzer – but that’s why we call it a “fun run”; everyone had a great time.

The Spero Foundation thanks its generous sponsors; Active Rehabilitation, Congress Orthopaedics, Foothill Home Care, Hotheads Salon, Records Retention Management Services, Inc., Road ID, San Gabriel Valley Water Company, Savor The Flavor, Sierra Madre Volunteer Firefighters Association and Team CrossFit Academy.  In addition many thanks go out to all the volunteers and city staff members that made it such a huge success.

  1. Bill Coburn says:

As you can see at the top of the article, this is a press release. If they don’t send the times, I don’t post the times. As the article says, they are going to look into chip timing, which will be much more conducive to tracking (and subsequently posting) times.

Unfortunately, I was busy decorating the Chamber float, and was not able to cover the race. If somebody that took pictures submits them to me, I’ll post them. One of the Spero Foundation people said something about possibly getting the City to share some of their photos. We’ll see.

  2. Jeff Dinkin says:

Sure wish you had listed the finish times as well.

Do you know where photos are posted? I saw a few photographers at the event.
