Some of what's happening at the Senior Center and in the community to assist seniors (fun and games stuff is closer to the bottom):

Volunteer Opportunities - There are many ways in which your talents can be put to use to assist those in need. Call the Senior Coordinator, 355-5278 Mon. - Fri., and ask for Rosemary.

Blood Pressure Testing - Second Tuesday of each month, 10:30 - 12:30 p.m., by Huntington Hospital Community Outreach

Information and Referral - Call 355-7135, ext. 257, M - F, 10 to 2, for information on legal matters, employment sources, housing, transportation and other opportunities.

Upon request, a Huntington Senior Care Network Coordinator is available for social services. Contact Alice Cortez at (626) 397-3110 ext. 4440.

INTERVALE Lunches - For a suggested donation of $1.50, hot meals are served Monday thru Friday, from 11:30 to 12:30 at the Senior Center. For more information and reservations, call 355-0256.

Meals on Wheels - Lunch and dinner can be delivered to the homebound Monday thru Friday, call 355-7135, ext. 257 10 to 2, Mon. - Fri., to request this service. Drivers and volunteers are always needed and appreciated

Telephone Reassurance "Ear to Ear" Program - This is a free community service for seniors living alone. The program provides daily phone calls to seniors needing this assistance from the Sierra Madre Senior Center.

Bingo - Tuesdays, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., 25 cents per card
