(4/2/05) Three Sierra Madre Businesses To Post Web Pages on The News Net - Dog Wash Express, Hastings Animal Hospital, Reni Rose Agree to One Year Deals  Friday, April 1st, was a good day for the News Net as three Sierra Madre businesses signed up to post web pages on the Sierra Madre News Net site.  Dog Wash Express, Hastings Animal Ranch and Reni Rose of Prudential California Realty all agreed to one year deals to advertise on the News Net with a web page of their own.  Dog Wash Express and Reni Rose have existing websites, and will use their pages on the site to draw additional traffic to those sites and to improve their search engine results.  Hastings Animal Ranch currently does not have a site of their own, but plan to some day.  In the meantime, their page on the News Net site will be their online presence.  Be sure to check back, their pages will be posted very soon.

(4/2/05) News Net Receives 1/2 Million Hits in Just One Month!!  During the month of March, we had what we believe are record numbers for traffic to the site.  Last month, we had more than half a million hits for the first time!! (We'd actually never even had more than 400,00, so there was a huge jump). Thanks for making Sierra Madre News Net your online source of Sierra Madre news and information!!

(3/11/05) Loyal America Camacho Named Sierra Madre's Older American of the Year  Thursday, March 3rd, our Senior Community Commission selected Loyal America Camacho as Sierra Madre's Older American of the Year. The reception in her honor will be held on May 6, 2005 ,from 4:30 PM - 6:00PM at the Hart Memorial Park House (Senior Center).  Loyal's volunteer activities began shortly after moving to Sierra Madre from Hawaii some 20 years ago. She became a volunteer at the library then, and continues to volunteer there to this day. She works tirelessly five days a week in the Intervale Senior Lunch Program at the Hart Memorial Park House. That entails not only preparing the dishes for serving to the approximately 35 seniors at the Center, but also 10-20 meals for the Caps Program at nearby Trinity Presbyterian

Church in Pasadena. After lunch, cleanup and sanitation of the kitchen begins. On Tuesdays she calls the city's Bingo game and on Saturdays the Senior's Club Bingo. She is also president of that club. She services the library at the British Home every other week, and is a member of the "Green Team" at the Sierra Madre Woman's Club, tending to their garden. Her schedule would tire those half her age, and her contribution to this community is immeasurable.  Congratulations Loyal!!
