During the week of Sunday, March 25th, to Saturday March 31st, the Sierra Madre Police Department responded to approximately 234 calls for service. 

 

Thursday, March 29th:

 

7:11 AM – Theft from vehicle, 300 block Wisteria Way. A resident reported the trunk of his unlocked car ajar and his baseball equipment strewn about the street. Pair of men’s Tifosi Sunglasses and six empty CD cases was missing.  The theft occurred between 10:00 PM Wednesday, 3/28 and 7:00 AM Thursday, 3/29. The loss was estimated at $60.00.

 

9:16 AM – Theft from vehicle, 600 block Oakwood Lane. A resident reported finding her car’s glove box open and several items missing: a Liftmaster garage door opener, Mercury insurance card, Motorola cellular telephone charger, Lexus owner’s manual, vehicle registration and an emergency flashlight. The theft occurred between 5:00 PM Wednesday, 12/28 and 9:30 AM Thursday, 12/28. The loss was valued at $113.00.

 

1:48 PM – Theft, 400 West Sierra Madre Blvd. An out of town visitor reported leaving his Hitachi camcorder on the rear bumper of his parked car, but upon his return it was missing. The crime occurred Thursday between 1:00 PM and 1:05 PM. The camcorder was valued at $400.00.   

 

Friday, March 30th:

 

7:34 AM – Auto burglary, 100 block Colony Drive. A resident reported the left rear passenger window of his car smashed and two briefcases stolen. The cases contained $2000.00 cash, $200.00 in Washington Mutual Travelers checks, a US Passport, two credit cards, a Washington Mutual checkbook and a blue Polar Shear jacket. Total loss estimated at $2630.00.

 

8:23 AM – Grand theft auto, 100 block Colony Drive. A resident reported her Jeep stolen from her driveway. The theft occurred between 10:00 PM Thursday, 3/29 and 7:00 AM Friday, 3/30. The Jeep was found a few blocks away on San Gabriel Court with the keys in the ignition. Evidently the keys to the Jeep were taken from her husband’s unlocked truck. Two Blackberry phones,  a pair of Coach sunglasses and a pair of Quick Silver sunglasses were stolen. The total loss was estimated at $825.00.

 

2:34 AM – Petty theft, 400 block North Baldwin Ave. A resident reported his Yes on Measure V sign was stolen. The sign was last seen 3/29 Thursday at 10:00 PM and discovered missing at 8:00 AM Friday.
