Downtown Grand Re-Opening

Saturday, Nov. 23rd, 2002

Holiday Open House a Success!!  We have already heard from readers who enjoyed the Open House, and it's been a long time since we have seen crowds downtown like we had Saturday.  Merchants' stores that have long been empty were serving lots of customers all day long.  Santa looked great in a pre-Victorian white suit, the horse drawn trolley was packed all night long.  The artists wares were great as well, though the biggest crowds didn't really kick in until the evening when some of them were shutting down.  Live music was performed by musicians and carolers, and cast members from the Sierra Madre Playhouse came down and performed songs from the Christmas Carol Story which was playing there at the time.  Kudos to Karma Bell and the committee of volunteers who put this event together, and to the City and the Chamber of Commerce for co-sponsoring the event.  Please click on a photo below to see it larger.
