Sierra Madre Rose Assn. Legendary Bingo

April 24, 2004

Return to Rose Float Assn. main page

SM Rose Float Assn. Holds "Legendary BINGO" Fundraiser  hosted by "Bingo Boy" & the fabulous "Belle Aire." A gift basket or better was awarded to each BINGO winner! There was a $20 donation requested if you wanted to come and play Bingo, but funds were also raised through food, beer and wine, opportunity (no, it's not a raffle) sales and video sales.  All proceeds go towards the building of the 2005 Sierra Madre Rose Float Association's Tournament of Roses Parade entry.  This is one of a few fundraisers scheduled for the 2005 float, there will be others, including another Legendary Bingo fundraiser scheduled for October 23rd.  If you missed this one, be sure  to make the next one.  It's raucous good fun, for a good cause, helping SMRFA carry on Sierra Madre's decades long tradition of having a float in the T of R parade, one of the few self-built floats still involved.  But don't bring the kids to this particular event, unless you feel comfortable explaining to them why O-69 is everybody's favorite number...Click on a pic to see it larger.

Rendering of the 2005 float, we expect a cleaner version soon

A big gift package

Several other gift packages

Scooter donated by SSMRFA Pres. Robert Young as "grand prize"

Sierra Madre Wistaria lamp donated by KC's Closet

Videos were for sale as a fundraiser

SMRFA Robert Young addresses the crowd.  Bingo Boy purposely hid behind the leaf, BTW

Bell Aire and Bingo Boy.  Side perk on this shot: the poster behind lists donors

Smaller crowd shot

Belle Aire walks away after paddling a player (it costs to paddle, funds are donated to SMRFA with each paddle)

Crowd shot

Snookie Gregor - if you follow this website, you know she's at everything

Even if you're working the door, you get to play

Additional funds were raised through sail of food, beverage, and raffle tickets

Bingo Boy and Belle Aire (L-R) in case there's any question)

Bingo Boy sends winner on a lap, where she is pelted with losing Bingo cards

Due to shutter delay, you don't see any cards here

That's why I took this post-pelting pic

I think I went to high school with the bearded guy

Crowd shot

SM Rose Princess Kathryn Gross

Belle Aire gives this peacenik? a spanking

Another crowd shot

There's only one bingo card in the air in this shot because of the shutter delay on the camera, but she got  pelted, trust me
