Members of St. Rita's Boy Scout Troop 110 enjoy the flapjacks at the 2007 SMVFA annual Pancake Breakfast, this year set for May 17th. The whole town should really show up, after last weekend.

Photos of the Rose Float On Its Way to and At Kersting Court

Dec. 31, 2003

Return to Rose Float Association Home Page

Here are some pictures taken as the float headed up Sierra Madre and stopped at Kersting Court around 6pm or so.  There were lots of residents along the boulevard, and quite a few others who came down to Kersting Court to see the float off.

The float just outside the Barn driveway

Some of the folks who came out to see the float off

Mother and daughter watch float go by

The Rubber Ducky

Sierra Madre Blvd. residents brought the float's youngest fan out to see it go by

Driver's communicate with personnel on foot

There may have been some oak leaves in the shower that weren't in the design

Some fans painted themselves before coming out

Float passes a local landmark

Kersting Court's lighted pepper trees serve as a backdrop

The float's "tow truck" driver

Pole pushers put away their poles (used to lift low branches out of the way en route to the parade)

Looking east at the float on Sierra Madre Blvd.

The puppy waits for his master to stop singing in the shower

A lousy shot, but it shows some of the daisy detail in the throw rug

The focal point of the float, that's a driver's hatch open in front

The back end of the float

A close-up view

Mike's one of the drivers, that was his hatch open above

Looking west on SM Blvd., that's the fire "tow truck" in front

Note the position of the arm.  That was part of the animation, his arm moved as he washed himself, see the next picture

See, his arm is further back.  The duck danced, there was "steam" around the shower, music playing

Some of the crowd that turned out at Kersting Court to see the float on its way

Here's the original pic, which included soon to be Chamber Board member Bob Matheson, too
