Gloria Griffiths Retires from SM Elementary, Parents and Students Host Surprise Party

Gloria Griffiths Retires from SM Elementary, Receives Surprise Party Gloria Griffiths, a teacher at Sierra Madre School for 20 years, and a teacher for 27 years altogether, retired from full-time teaching yesterday.  On Tuesday, June 17th, parents and students held a retirement party for her at the Sierra Mesa campus, and dozens of people, current students and former students, showed up to wish her well in her retirement.  "Mrs. G." will be joined in retirement by her husband Gary Griffiths, who also retired this year, after 33 years with the Pasadena Unified School District.  The theme of the pot luck party was Hawaiian, as Mrs. Griffiths has stated that part of her retirement will be spent with family in Hawaii.  The good news for Sierra Madre students is, rumor has it that Mrs. G. will fill in as a substitute as part of her "retirement" as well.  Congratulations on your retirement, to Gary and Gloria.
