Sierra Madre Police Blotter

During the week of Sunday, February 3rd, to Saturday February 9th, the Sierra Madre Police Department responded to approximately 231 calls for service. 

 

Sunday, February 3rd:

2:23 AM DUI arrest, 3000 block East Foothill Blvd, Pasadena. The officer stopped a car for a traffic violation, straddling traffic lanes. During the investigation the driver, a Pasadena resident, was determined to be driving under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to the Pasadena Jail for remand.

 

Monday, February 4th: 

7:37 PM Lost property, 242 West Sierra Madre Blvd. A resident reported he lost his “fanny pack” and wallet while hiking on the Santa Ana River bike trail in Costa Mesa, Ca. The resident wanted to report the loss in the event his identity is stolen. No dollar loss was available.

  

Tuesday, February 5th:

3:02 PM Vandalism, 141 West Highland Ave. A delivery driver reported his truck was damaged by a rock thrown by one of three boys from the elementary school. Estimated damage $200.00 for replacement of the truck’s window.

 

Wednesday, February 6th:

10:40 PM Arrest, suspended/revoked driver’s license, 700 block West Sierra Madre Blvd. The officer stopped a car for a vehicle code violation.  During the investigation a records check revealed the driver, a Pasadena resident, was driving on a suspended driver's license.  The driver was arrested and released on a written promise to appear.

 

Thursday, February 7th:

4:40 PM Animal complaint, 611 East Sierra Madre Blvd. The officer responded to Sierra Vista Park regarding an animal bite at the dog park. A Monrovia resident was bitten in the leg while attempting to separate her dog from a Sierra Madre resident’s dog. The injured person was treated by Sierra Madre Fire Department paramedics and released at the scene.

7:56 PM Vandalism, 110 North Lima Ave. The officer was dispatched to the apartment complex due to a damaged post office box. The damage occurred between Wednesday, 2/06 and Thursday, 2/7. Repair of the damaged mailbox was estimated at $100.00.

 

Friday, February 8th:

10:28 PM Auto theft, 44 North Baldwin Ave. The officer was dispatched to 44 North Baldwin Ave regarding a stolen vehicle report.  During the officer's investigation, the victim remembered that she parked the vehicle down the street. The car and its owner have been reunited.

 

Saturday, February 9th:

3:16 AM DUI arrest, Sierra Madre Blvd and Michillinda Ave. The officer stopped a car for a minor traffic violation. During the investigation the driver, a Sierra Madre resident, was determined to be driving under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and transported to the Pasadena Jail for remand.

10:28 AM Battery, 200 block West Sierra Madre Blvd. A resident reported a male bicyclist wearing a blue racing suit threw water on her as she was driving west bound on Sierra Madre Blvd. Officer’s stopped a cyclist matching a possible suspect, but the victim was unable to give a definitive identification.
