During the week of Sunday, March 2nd, to Saturday March 8th,
the Sierra Madre Police Department responded to approximately 239 calls
for service.
Sunday, March 2nd:
7:16 PM
Theft, 100 block Esperanza Ave. A resident reported her Florida license
plate, X10BJL, was missing. The plate was taken from her silver Honda from
the car port area of her apartment. The theft occurred between 7:30 pm,
Friday and 7:00 am, Saturday, 3/1.
7:34 PM
Domestic violence, a 22-year old woman came to the station to report she
had been physically assaulted by her boyfriend after leaving The
Buccaneer Lounge. The woman, a Pasadena resident, sustained multiple cuts
and scrapes from being thrown and dragged on the sidewalk. Her boyfriend,
a Sierra Madre resident, was subsequently arrest for the battery and
transported to the Pasadena Jail for remand.

Disturbance, 200 block Jameson Ct. Officers responded to a home regarding
a 911 domestic violence investigation. The investigation revealed that a
husband and wife first argued, and then the husband struck his wife. The
husband was arrested and transported to the Pasadena Jail for remand.
Tuesday, March 4th:

Vandalism, 222 West Sierra Madre Blvd. During foot patrol of Memorial
Park, an officer found recent graffiti on the wall of the men's bathroom.
The damage consisted of green letters SBK and XLAX. No repair estimate
for removal was available.
Wednesday, March 5th:

Vandalism, 222 West Sierra Madre Blvd. During foot patrol of Memorial
Park, an officer found recent graffiti on the wall of the men's

A city employee reported graffiti on the walls of the men's bathroom. The
damage consisted of black felt tip marking pen writing. No repair
estimate for removal was available.
Thursday, March 6th:
8:16 AM
Grand theft, 700 block Brookside Lane. A resident called to report the
theft of her $1000.00 Dell lap top computer from her backyard. The loss
occurred between 2:00 am and 7:00 am Wednesday.
1:12 PM
Vandalism, 100 block North Baldwin Ave. An officer reported graffiti to a
Verizon Telephone switching box. The graffiti consisted of unintelligible
black felt tip pen writing. It was unknown when the crime occurred or the
cost of repair.
2:40 PM
Hit and run traffic collision, 354 North Canon Ave. A resident reported a
city NO PARKING sign and tree were damaged. It was unknown when the
crime occurred or what would be the cost of repair.
2:42 PM
Hit and run traffic collision, 160 North Canon Ave. The City Parking
Control Officer reported two parked cars were damaged by a vehicle driving
southbound on North Canon Ave. The car, a silver Honda, driven by a male
driver, turned westbound on Highland Ave. The driver stopped momentarily,
then drove away westbound on Highland Ave. The cost of repairs to the two
parked cars is unknown at this time.
Friday, March 7th:
4:19 PM
Arrest, Bailey Canyon Park. Officers spoke to a man in the park and
learned that he had two outstanding criminal warrants. The man, a Sierra
Madre resident, was arrested and issued written promises to appear and
released.
Saturday, March 8th:
8:03 AM
Vandalism, 100 block of N. Lima St. A resident reported her cars rear
window was smashed while parked in front of her house. The crime occurred
between 6:00 pm Friday and 5:00 am, Saturday 3/8. The repair was estimated
at $1000.00.
9:46 AM
Vandalism, 600 block Mariposa Ave. A resident called to report the rear
window of his car was smashed. The crime occurred between 8:25 am and 9:30
am, Saturday 3/8. The loss was estimated at $1000.00.

Vandalism, 347 W. Sierra Madre Blvd, Sierra Crown City Glass. The owner of
the business reported vandalism to his parked truck. The damage, large
black graffiti letters occurred between 9:50 and 9:55, Friday, 3/7. The
crime was captured on surveillance cameras and is currently under
investigation.

Arrest, 600 block Ramona Ave. The officer stopped a car for a minor
traffic violation. During the investigation the driver, a Sierra Madre
resident, was found to have an outstanding warrant for her arrest. She was
issued a written promise to appear and released.

Receiving Stolen Property Arrest, 3700 block Foothill Blvd. The officer
stopped a vehicle for a minor traffic violation. During the investigation,
the officer found several counterfeit US Naval identification cards,
stolen checks and other stolen property. The driver and his passenger,
both residents of Pico Rivera, were both arrested for possession of stolen
property and outstanding arrest warrants. They were transported to the
Pasadena Jail for remand. |
